Equality and Safeguarding Statement.

At Bene Culture, we pride ourselves on providing safe, open and inclusive spaces. Our ethos at Bene Culture is to work within our local community to create a platform and provide equal opportunities for creative collaboration. Diversity and respect for others is at the heart of what we do.

We do not condone discrimination or abuse of any kind against anyone. We are committed to taking real action to bring about meaningful change.

Non-judgmental and anti-oppressive practice

We aim to create a non-judgemental and welcoming atmosphere for everyone, and spaces that positively showcase the unique talents and experiences of our communities. To achieve this we work directly with individuals from all backgrounds, and try to help empower those without a voice or representation.

We are proactive in trying to ensure that when we enter formal working arrangements, we only do so with those who promote anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practices. We have always acted, and will continue to act whenever we are aware that this may not be the case.

Our commitments :

To ensure that we can continue to work in this open and direct manner whilst maintaining safe spaces for everyone, we have implemented the following:

  1. Anonymous notification process: If you have any concerns about our employees or affiliates, or any of our content, please message us or contact us anonymously here.

  2. Debriefing Process: We are introducing a new debriefing process to safeguard those involved in our creative projects and shoots. This provides an opportunity for feedback, or any concerns to be highlighted at an early stage. We will proactively seek out suggestions for improvement to ensure that all our projects and spaces reflect our values.

  3. Liaison Officer: We have appointed a Liaison Officer, with training in discrimination awareness and trauma-informed practice to support the sensitive discussion and resolution of any concerns.

Ethical practice

Bene Culture is committed to being a socially responsible business. This includes ensuring that we respect and promote the highest standards of ethical practice, and operate in a manner that is compliant with relevant laws.

Our commitments :

  1. We will actively work to ensure that all of our business activities do not directly or indirectly violate human rights laws.

  2. We will adhere to anti-bribery, anti-corruption and anti-money laundering laws and practice.

Harassment and Bullying

Harassment and bullying are never acceptable. Bene Culture cares about the wellbeing of our employees, affiliates and customers. We are considerate in our actions to ensure that we do not behave in a harmful manner, nor perpetuate harmful actions towards others.

Our commitment :

As a responsible business, Bene Culture will never use our public platforms to attack or abuse private individuals or discuss private matters. Any instances of this on our platforms will be investigated, and appropriate legal advice will be sought as necessary.
